IQ tests and their change over time

IQ tests are always standardized for a mean of 100. But over time they have become increasingly difficult and a 100 score now would correspond to a 130 score in the time of our grandparents.
The reason why that is happening is because intelligence isn't strictly dependent on our genes. It is also dependent on our mental tools (this is called crystallized intelligence, as opposed to fluid intelligence that appears to be mostly unchangeable through training and education).
