Is love real? Is (the concept of) god real? are numbers real? I find these to be intrinsically related. Can they have some degree of existence in a sort of imaginary axis? As I thought about this I found myself pondering: am I real? I certainly appear to be more real than god, but is a number less real than me? In the video various philosophies are addressed.
But I find myself reaching a simple conclusion. No concept exists in reality.
-Not love, as it is an abstract generalization of the effects of the characteristic neurochemistry (and the associated mental images that may even differ from a person to another).
-Not god, as something that can in fact be deeply moving for some people, but is once again signals on our brain.
-Not numbers, as they are nothing more that proportions, either abstracted (theoretical mathematics) or applied (physics and other applied mathematics).
-Then what about me? Am I real?
No, I must not be real. There must be no "I", it is just a concept in my mind.
And putting it in perspective, this conclusion agrees with some of my previous thoughts: that there is nothing (but a concept) that separates what I consider to be "me" from what I consider to be "the chair I am sitting on".
So what is real?
Everything in existence, only the separations and categorizations are concepts in our brains and, as such, not real.
What I think of as "I" is still more real than "god" or "numbers".
The "I" itself is not real, but what I think of when I think of "I" is real.
