I am SHOCKED. Maybe I shouldn't be, maybe I should know better by now. But 57% of republicans want Christianity to be the official religion of the United States. While only 34% of the total population is in favor. (This is again highly correlated with disbelief in global warming...) If the parties polarize religious belief, to what point does religious indoctrination condition the political choice and the course of a secular country?
