This is called Method of Loci and it will allow you to memorize enormous amounts of information using spacial memory.
It's basis is simple:
When you cling a memory to another that is already in your brain it has a solid "hook" to attach to and you can retrieve it much more easily and more precisely. To use spacial memory just use memories of your house, street, workplace, shopping mall... You will be able to walk through and in reverse or just go to a specific site to fetch "item number 3".To associate a memory with another just imagine something like your room and "put" there the items in your list in predefined places (like: the turkey in your bed).The more ridiculous the image that you picture in your mind is, the more memorable it will be.
To learn a language, imagine for an instance "puerta" (door in spanish):
1 - Picture a random door. Imagine on top of it a port filled with boats (lol just make it "fit").
2 - Now when you think of "door" you remember "a port" => port a => puerta
Imagine connections like this and you will learn a language much faster.
You can also set a reminder:
1 - Picture the door of your house, from the inside.
2 - picture loads of money (like if the door was made of green dollar bills)
3 - when you pass by the door and look at it you will remember that you are supposed to go to the bank to cash out your check!
For numbers: Just associate the numbers with objects (like 1 = spear) and place them like any other item.
This is an incredibly effective technique. I also know 60 decimals of PI, and can tell you the number corresponding to the decimal you ask me.
This gives rise to powerful performance and allot of fun party tricks (this works when you are drunk too)
There is no way to erase the items, so you will have to just wait a couple weeks until you can reuse the same place. (But try to imagine it empty or destroy it with a grenade, maybe it will work for you.)
